Here's another on-boarding tip from your extended HR family .........
Always include your current employees in the new employee's orientation. Make it a part of your company culture to make everyone feel welcome, happy, & stress free at all times. Introduce new employees, upon hire, by walking them door-to-door of your current employee's office for a small office or for a medium to large business, send out an internal email. This helps create an instant connection between current employees and your new employees and allows for easier inclusion, less nervousness on the first day, and creates that warm, fuzzy feeling on everyone's part.
